A suspect in a Baton Rouge murder investigation was arrested in Abbeville Tuesday.

Abbeville Police say they received information from State Police that a suspect wanted for murder and attempted murder was in the area.

The Advocate reported that an East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury indicted Michael E. Vallery Jr., 50 in November, on second-degree murder charges and two counts of attempted second-degree murder. Vallery is accused of raping, beating and fatally stabbing his ex-wife, as well as stabbing two other people, including a former Olympic athlete.
