Acadiana has officially arrived at the weekend and days that are relatively rain free are becoming more of a luxury with a very wet pattern taking hold at the end of the weekend.

Saturday's forecast looks pretty status quo, it'll be hot and humid through the day and some sea breeze showers will start to pop up later in the afternoon, eventually scattering across Acadiana.

Rain chances for Saturday will sit in the 40% range a signal to the amount of moisture the atmosphere has available which will in turn lead to the heat index pushing into the mid 90s by the afternoon.

The forecast takes a turn on Sunday with shower chances increasing and becoming more numerous through the afternoon as moisture continues to move in from the Gulf of Mexico.

This flow of deep moisture continues into the work week which will allow for elevated rain chances to last through the majority of next week, we may end up with several inches of rain next week.

It'll be important to watch the forecast this weekend, while severe weather isn't expected as the rain starts to pile up we may start dealing with some localized flooding especially in the usual problem areas.
