The National Hurricane Center has officially designated the PTC 1 as Tropical Storm Arthur making it the first named storm of the season.
Hurricane Hunters flying in the storm Wednesday morning were able to determine tropical storm conditions along with a closed low.
This won't impact the overall forecast or the impacts for Acadiana which are listed here.
Winds are currently at 40 mph with gusts around 50 mph, the storm is moving north at 9 mph.
