Some parishes across Acadiana are beginning to establish shelters.

For any information or questions about established shelters across Louisiana, dial 211 or text LASHELTER to 898-211.

Across Baton Rouge and Lafayette, Lyft is partnering with Louisiana United Way and 211 to provide free rides to help those recovering from Hurricane Barry move around. Whether it be to local hospitals, shelters or food banks, those impacted can dial 211 or text ‘LASHELTER’ to 898211 to receive a ride code for free transportation.

St. Mary Parish

The following shelters will be available starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019.

Berwick Civic Center

Baldwin Civic Center

Franklin Recreational Center (near the old hospital)

All shelters are equipped with cots, blankets, and limited food.

If you have special food or medicinal requirements, you must bring your own.
