Warmer and more humid conditions are in the forecast for Acadiana to start the week, while a weak cool front may generate some shower activity into Tuesday night.

Overall, the weather pattern is expected to stay relatively quiet this week, until a stronger front arrives Friday.

In the near term, a fair and pleasant evening will give way to some patchy fog and clouds by daybreak as temperatures level-off in the mid-60s.

Monday will be another day marked with a fair bit of morning cloudiness yielding to intervals of sun from midday and the entire afternoon.

Although temperatures & humidity will begin to creep upward Monday, a nice tropical breeze is anticipated once again for the afternoon.

It should stay dry for the day Tuesday, but with a westerly wind developing ahead of a frontal boundary, temperatures across the Acadiana area should push into the upper 80s, and perhaps hit 90 in a few spots!

A weak front will traverse the area Tuesday night allowing for scattered showers and perhaps a thunderstorm or two, especially near the coast. Rain chances Tuesday night are set near 40%.

Sunshine and drier air will return to the area Wednesday with temperatures still reaching the mid-80s despite our frontal passage, but it will be felt better into Wednesday night, when temperatures could drop into the upper 50s.

Thursday should be another sunny and pleasant day, while a front that arrives Friday looks to produce a little more in the way of shower and thunderstorm activity into the afternoon/evening.

At this time, there aren't any signals for any kind of severe weather nor heavy rainfall threat Friday.

Next weekend will be markedly cooler with lingering clouds Saturday and sunshine back for Sunday.

More importantly daytime highs next weekend will be held to the mid-70s while night-time/morning lows could drop as low as the low-mid 50s for several nights into early the following week!

Enjoy whatever 50 degree temperatures we get in today's 10 Day Forecast, as it appears that moving into the latter part of the following week, tropical heat and humidity are looking to trend upward and the 50s may be gone until October!
