Warm and drier weather expected for the start of the work week.

Good Sunday afternoon, y'all! It was slightly more humid out the door this afternoon as more of an easterly flow was in place across the region. This, along with a stronger sea breeze effect, resulted in a few scattered storms developing this afternoon mainly south of I-10. Otherwise, it was a warm one out across Acadiana under partly cloudy skies.

Lows tonight dropping into the upper 60s to around 70 degrees.

Monday we'll watch high pressure move into the region which will help to keep us on the dry and warm side. We are talking highs in the lower 90s! The good news is that with a northeasterly flow in place throughout the day, our heat indices will be kept in check and should be manageable during the afternoon time frame.

High temperatures will settle into the mid 90s through Wednesday as high pressure remains in control across the area to help keep rain chances at bay. Of course, with it being summer in South Louisiana, we can never totally rule out the rain chances, so they'll remain at around 10-20% through the work week for an isolated pop up storm or two.

Southerly flow and consequently humid conditions will return by late week and into next weekend, so expect to see daily rain chances returning to the forecast by next weekend and into next work week. I hope y'all have a great week!

In the tropics: We'll keep the good news rolling as no new developments are expected within at least the next 5 days.
