Warm start to the week; More seasonable temperatures to follow

Welcome to a new week everyone! Temperatures will start out in the lower 70s on Monday with some patchy fog possible.

Another nice day will be in store, although we will be on the warmer side as highs top out in the mid to upper 80s.

A weak front will try and push through the area Monday evening which may help to generate a shower or two, but most of us will stay dry.

No drastic changes in temperatures with this front, but it will help to keep the dry weather in the forecast.

A more seasonable cold front will move through late on Thursday and into early Friday paving the way for a very pleasant weekend ahead.

We will be talking highs in the lower 70s with lows in the lower 50s... and some areas will even be sneaking into the upper 40s.

It is certainly a huge sigh of relief for all of us to finally get a nice stretch of weather this week.

We are all in this together and I have no doubt that we will recover and come back stronger than ever before from this storm.

After all, we are some of the most resilient people on earth here in South Louisiana!

In the tropics: We continue to monitor one small spot in the Atlantic that has a 20% chance to develop in the next 5 days.

It poses no threat to the Gulf of Mexico nor to us here in Acadiana.
