The National Hurricane Center upgraded a disturbance in the open North Atlantic to the third tropical storms of the year late Tuesday night.
Chantal, with 40mph winds, is expected to remain a minimal tropical storm while looping in the open Atlantic over the next 5 days.
This system will pose no threat to land...perhaps just some shipping lanes.
