The heat will go on for Acadiana with minimal to no chance of a cooling afternoon shower through Friday.

Look for highs to continue in the lower 90s Thursday with heat indices reach the 100-105° range.

Little change is expected Friday.

Prospects of any cooling afternoon storms will be less than 10% through Friday, but could rise to 20%, perhaps better Saturday associated with a very weak cool front that will drop southward for a day before retreating back to the north early next week.

Temperatures this weekend will stay hot, but Acadiana could briefly see slightly lower humidity Sunday into Monday with slightly lower, but still near normal temperatures at night.

Meanwhile in the tropics, Tropical Storm Nana is expected to make landfall somewhere between the Northern Honduras Coast northward through Belize overnight through Thursday.

This system will likely bring the threat of flooding rains to portions of Mexico and Guatemala as well.

Elsewhere, Omar was downgraded to a depression Wednesday afternoon and should dissipate over the open Atlantic by the end of the week.

Farther east, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) continues to keep an eye on two disturbances in the central and eastern tropical Atlantic, but they will not be an immediate threat to populated areas over the next week.
