Welcome to the weekend. Acadiana!
It will be breezy and mild this evening with temperatures holding steady in the 60s.
Scattered showers and a few isolated storms will arrive later on tonight in response to our next "cool" frontal passage.
The bulk of the rain will hold off on any Friday evening plans you may have.
Best time to see some of this activity will be around midnight and into very early Saturday morning.
By daybreak on Saturday, most of the shower activity will already be out of here, but we will be left with some patchy to perhaps dense fog in some spots.
You will want to give yourself a little extra time on the roadways first thing tomorrow morning.
The rest of Saturday looks to remain dry with partly to mostly cloudy skies in place as highs settle into the lower 70s.
Some peaks of sunshine will be possible if we are lucky later on in the day.
Rain chances ramp right back up again for Sunday afternoon/evening as our next surface low pressure system approaches from the southwest.
Expect mild and breezy conditions throughout Sunday with winds picking up out of the south ahead of that low.
Showers and a few rumbles of thunder will be likely through the afternoon and evening time frame.
New rainfall estimate totals are around a half an inch to an inch through Sunday across the area.
Finally, by late Sunday night and into early Monday morning, a cold front will sweep this activity out of here and we will be turning much colder to kick off the new week.
In fact, afternoon high temperatures will struggle to reach the lower 50s on Monday with lingering cloud cover remaining in place!
Most of next week will be relatively quiet and cool across Acadiana despite a fast-moving system that will generate a few showers late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning.
Y'all have a great weekend!
