Welcome to a new week, Acadiana!

After a mostly cloudy Sunday, skies will begin to clear this evening and into Monday morning.

As a result, temperatures will be falling into the lower 40s across the region.

Some patchy fog may be possible by morning so keep that in mind.

Otherwise, expect sunny skies through your Monday morning.

A few high passing fair weather clouds will try and work in tomorrow afternoon as highs settle into the mid-60s.

Another chilly start for Tuesday morning as lows will be dropping back into the lower 40s.

We will see a bit more cloud coverage going into Tuesday afternoon so we'll favor more of a partly cloudy sky, but the day will remain dry as highs return to the mid-60s.

Southerly flow and clouds really start to build in on Wednesday ahead of our next cold front.

Temperatures will be climbing to near 70 degrees through the afternoon with a few isolated showers possible.

Better rain chances arrive Wednesday evening and into the overnight period as that front swings through.

As of now, we are not expecting any severe weather, but a few hefty downpours will be possible.

A few leftover light showers will be possible first thing on Christmas Eve morning, but the rest of the day looks to remain dry with skies clearing.

We will also be turning much colder as highs will struggle to reach the lower 50s on Christmas Eve afternoon.

With clear skies in place going into Christmas morning, temperatures will be falling into the 30s (Close to freezing for some?).

It does not get much better weather wise going into Christmas Day with mainly sunny skies expected.

Models are still having a difficult time coming up with a concrete number for an afternoon high, but regardless, cool conditions are looking likely across the area.

We will favor mid-50s for the time being...

Have a great holiday week, y'all!
