After dreary conditions Thursday, and a wind chilly start Friday, Acadiana can expect a mostly sunny skies to return to the area and stay into the weekend.

Patchy light rain, drizzle and mist should end around midnight with skies clearing toward daybreak while temperatures head for the mid-upper 30s Friday morning.

There will be a bit of a wind chill Friday morning with chills in the lower 30s.

Expect skies to become mostly sunny allowing temperatures to push into the mid-upper 50s Friday afternoon...a breeze from the north will make it feel a few degrees cooler.

Winds will be decreasing into Friday night, and with clear skies expected, temperatures will likely drop to near or just above freezing across most locations of Acadiana, and we could see a fairly good frost for Saturday morning.

Sunny skies and seasonably cool temperatures will continue for our Saturday with highs once again in the upper 50s...but with less wind, it should feel milder.

We could see another frost Saturday night into Sunday morning as temperatures drop into the mid-30s, but some high clouds moving in Saturday night might disrupt that process.

Nonetheless, covering the plants at night into this weekend will be a pretty good idea...just in case.

Sunday should be fair to partly cloudy (some high clouds) and milder with highs pushing into the lower 60s...still some 10 degrees below normal!

Moving into next week, a frontal trough will pass through the area with little fanfare Sunday night into Monday, but it will actually get a little milder into next week.

Look for fair to partly cloudy skies Monday with highs reaching the mid-60s, and mostly sunny skies Tuesday with readings pushing into the "normal" range of the lower 70s.

It will be even milder as the week wears on with highs getting back into the mid to perhaps the upper 70s Thursday into Friday.

Our next decent front looks to arrive either late Friday or into early Saturday with a round of showers a pretty good bet at sometime...right now the thinking is Friday night.

This could set up the bulk of the following weekend as another cool one.
