ROB'S WEATHER FORECAST 530PM PART 1 3/8/2020

Acadiana's weather will be trending from milder to warmer this week with the chance of showers mainly Monday into Tuesday.

Look for temperatures not to be as cool overnight through Monday morning with lows across the area occurring around midnight or shortly thereafter, in the mid-upper 50s.

Temperatures may actually rise a couple of degrees by daybreak.

Clouds will be increasing overnight, but if possible, check out the "Super Worm Moon" tonight and tomorrow night.

At only 222,081 miles away the moon will be roughly 7.5% closer to Earth than average, and will be one of three super moons this year.

Provided the clouds are not too thick Sunday night we should get a couple of intervals of viewing in Acadiana...expect overcast skies tomorrow night so tonight might be our best view.

More on the Super Moon here.

Moving ahead weather-wise into Monday, look for more cloud cloud cover (as compared with Sunday) and a few scattered showers possible. Rain chance sMonday will be in the 30-40% range.

Temperatures will top out in the lower 70s Monday.

Expect a breezy afternoon Monday with southeasterly winds near 12-22 mph with some higher afternoon gusts possible.

Chance of showers will continue overnight into Tuesday with temperatures warming into the low-mid 60s for lows. Rain chances Tuesday will be in the 40-50% range.

Tuesday should be even warmer with highs reaching the mid-70s but there should still be a chance of scattered showers.

The rest of the week is looking mostly cloudy accompanied by more spring-like temperatures with highs pushing the upper 70s to perhaps lower 80s through Saturday.

Rain chances should drop closer to 10% Wednesday through Friday, with each day likely to start of cloudy but finish with some intervals of afternoon sun.

Looking toward next weekend we may see a temporary frontal boundary drop southward across the area by Sunday inducing some shower activity by Saturday night into Sunday.

After a slightly cooler Sunday, warmer than normal temperatures will resume for the Monday through Wednesday time-frame with highs pushing back toward the 80 degree mark.

We're not done with cooler temperatures yet, but the 10 Day Forecast is appearing quite spring-like indeed!

Climate Notes: You may have noticed tree pollen has been going gang-busters across the Acadiana area...this will continue in full force over the next couple of weeks ahead, but any shower activity we see will help to mitigate some the tree pollen count, albeit in a very temporary fashion.
