Staying hot, humid and relatively dry through the work week.

Good Sunday afternoon Acadiana! It was another hot and humid one out there today as highs topped out around 90, but it felt closer to 100 thanks to our sticky dew points.

Those muggy conditions will continue overnight into Monday morning as lows only drop into the upper 70s.

Not a whole lot of change in the forecast as we head into the upcoming week. High pressure off to our east will look to expand and build westward closer to our region which will limit our storm chances through at least Thursday. We'll hold a 10-20% chance for isolated storm activity in our afternoons, but much of the area will remain dry.

The bigger issue we will face out there this week is our heat index values. With dew points remaining in the mid 70s all week long, it'll feel much warmer than the actual air temperature. With highs in the lower 90s, it'll feel more like the lower 100s through the course of the week. Just something to keep in mind if you'll be outside for long periods or doing any type of physical activity this week. Remember to drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks, and avoid the peak heating hours if at all possible.

Scattered rain chances look to return heading into late week and into next weekend. Y'all make it a great week!

In the tropics: One small area of interest way out in the Atlantic, but the likelihood of development is low at this time. The rest of the tropics remain quiet.
