Wall to wall sun is in the forecast for Acadiana Sunday, in the wake of an upper level disturbance that produced scattered showers and storms Saturday afternoon/evening.

With cold air aloft, some of the storms Saturday produced pea-size hail on top of gusty winds and some beautiful asperatus clouds!

Shower and storm activity should gradually diminish across the area Saturday evening with clearing skies and cooler temperatures arriving by daybreak.

Sunday will be as nice as it gets in April with a fresh north breeze under sun-drenched skies...remember it's that time of year if you are spending an extended amount of time outdoors when hats & sunblock are good ideas, no matter your skin type.

Temperatures Sunday will top out in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Look for even cooler conditions Sunday night into Monday morning with readings dropping into the mid-upper 50s.

Mostly sunny skies, comfortable temperatures and humidity will continue into Monday.

By Tuesday clouds will be on the increase in response to a return flow from the Gulf of Mexico ahead of our next storm system that should arrive Wednesday.

While not completely clear, there could be a low end threat of severe storms Wednesday with the primary threats being strong winds and hail...more on this in the days to come.

Thereafter, the forecast remains favorable into next weekend, but there are hints that more summer-like temperatures and humidity are not that far off in the distant future.
