Scattered afternoon storms in the forecast for your Memorial Day.

A few scattered storms developed across Acadiana Sunday afternoon.. mainly Lafayette parish westward. Storms should begin to dissipate overnight Sunday into Monday morning. Lows will fall into the lower 70s.

After a mainly quiet start to your Memorial Day, the daily afternoon storms will make a return with highs sitting in the mid 80s. It's not looking like a washout for the holiday, but be prepared for some scattering of storms during the afternoon time frame. Similar to the past few days, storms will start to die down during the evening hours.

Expect daily showers and storms to stick with us for the long haul as we head through the bulk of the work week. An upper-level low will move in from the west which will ensure southerly flow into the region leading to an increase in our moisture and humidity. Rain chances remain on the higher side as a result. We may start to dry out by next week, but we will have to see how the pattern evolves as we are still over a week out.

In the tropics: All is quiet in the tropics with no new development expected in at least the next 5 days.
