Good evening everyone! Very muggy night ahead as lows only drop into the mid and upper 70s heading into Thursday morning.

Thursday will start of mainly quiet before clouds and some storms develop into the afternoon. Rain chances will sit around 30% as highs settle into the mid 90s once again. Heat indices will reach the lower 100s so heat precautions remain advised.

Slightly better scattering of those showers and storms heading into Friday before rain chances start to come back down a bit for the upcoming weekend.

Typical August heat and weather for next week, although a potential weak cold front may try and work through the area by late week which could give us a slight break from the oppressive conditions. We'll continue to see how the pattern evolves.

In the tropics: Tropical Depression #11 continues to spin in the tropical Atlantic and is expected to become our 10th named system of the season by Thursday. It is forecasted to run into some hostile conditions in the days ahead, so development is limited. It remains no threat to us here in Acadiana.
