A tornado watch is in effect for all of Acadiana through 10pm Sunday evening. Storms containing damaging winds, large hail and perhaps an isolated tornado or two will be possible up until around 9-10 pm this evening.

After the threat of severe storms Sunday evening (see previous articles), Acadiana should get to enjoy a couple of nice weather days until the next system threatens by late Wednesday.

Showers and storms will exit the Acadiana area during the course of Sunday evening...stay with KATC for the latest. Latest doppler here.

Thereafter, expect fair to partly cloudy skies into Monday with lower humidity and pleasant temperatures topping out into the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Tuesday will be another nice day with some high clouds and temperatures topping out in the warmer mid-80s.

Acadiana's next weather-maker will arrive in the form of another upper level and surface low pressure system that will bring a chance of storms back to the area Wednesday evening into the night-time hours.

And yet again, there could be another severe weather threat into Wednesday night with the risk of damaging winds, hail and perhaps a few tornadoes.

The rest of the week and into the weekend should be relatively quiet with no big weather systems anticipated for the area continuing into mid-next week.

See the KATC 10 Forecast for the latest, and stay with KATC, katc.com and social media for severe weather updates for this Sunday evening.
