Happy 4th of July!
Hopefully everyone is having a chance to enjoy the holiday along with some classic south Louisiana summer time weather.
While it'll be a mostly sunny day the problem with Thursday's forecast will be the heat index which will be up around 105 through the afternoon.
It'll be the start of a pretty hot stretch of days that will last through the weekend, and Saturday and Sunday afternoon will see temperatures going mid to upper 90s.
Showers will be hard to find the next few days with only one or two light showers popping up along the sea breeze but those will be hard to find.
Make sure you take the heat seriously this weekend and drink plenty of water and find shade when possible.
