A surge of moisture moved in from the Gulf of Mexico late Monday night, this additional moisture will result in widely scattered showers and storms through the day on Tuesday.

These storms at time can be on the strong side so keep an eye out for frequent lightning, heavy downpours, and gusty winds around some of the storms.

While it's expected to be mostly cloudy through the day there will still be some breaks in the clouds with patchy sunshine likely through the day, doing enough to heat up our afternoon.

Highs Tuesday afternoon will hover around 90 degrees with the heat index running close to 100, another result of our recent moisture surge.

The forecast will stay the same for Wednesday which will be almost identical to Tuesday, with another round of showers and storms likely through the mid-week.

This round of unsettled weather will come to an end in time for the 4th of July, so while it will be hot you won't have to dodge many showers during the holiday.
