The forecast to start the first week of June looks to be a quiet one with a pretty standard summer forecast coming up for the start of the work week.

Partly sunny skies on Monday with sunshine breaking through at times and pushing those temperatures into the upper 80s and the heat index will sit in the mid 90s.

This time of year there is always a shot for some showers but those chance will stay very isolated and mostly along the immediate coastline.

Shower chances will increase through the middle of the week with Wednesday looking like a fairly wet day with an upper level low drifting across the region and sparking showers and storms.

It's the official start of the hurricane season, so if you have not done so it's time to review your emergency plan and make sure that your hurricane kits are well stocked.
