This week's drought monitor reveals troubling conditions. Severe drought has risen to 5% from 2% last week in the state, mainly in the Acadiana area.

While we are expecting some beneficial rainfall in the next few days, it won't be enough to fully alleviate the drought.
It's another mild night ahead, with temperatures hanging in the upper 60s and 70s!

If you haven't switched on the A/C yet, now’s the time to do it. Tomorrow looks to be warm as well, with highs in the low 80s.

For the next five days, we’re staying 10-15° above normal, when we usually see highs in the 70s and close to the upper 40s at night.
A weak upper-level disturbance may bring a few isolated showers tomorrow, but nothing widespread is expected. Rain chances are looking a bit better for next week, but each model run seems to be dialing them back. So, don't count on much measurable rainfall in the coming days. If you’re wondering where all the rain is, it’s heading to Texas and Oklahoma!

Good news on the horizon: we’re expecting two cold fronts next week before Thanksgiving, which will usher in cooler—and possibly colder—air by next weekend.
