Great Looking Weekend!

Sunny & Mild
Posted at
and last updated

A pleasant weekend ahead as our cold front is continuing to move to the east. Skies were able to clear for Thursday afternoon, and we're still seeing clear skies for early Friday. Sunny skies are planned for today as highs reach the mid 80s for daytime highs. A weak cold front will push across the area overnight.

A few clouds will roll through with the slightest chance for a sprinkle. There's not much moisture for the front to work with, and it'll be moving quickly. This front will reinforce the cooler drier air for the remainder of the weekend. The front will move over the Gulf of Mexico Saturday, clearing the skies and keeping our temperatures mild.

Expect more sunshine for Saturday and Sunday with highs in the lower 80s and night time temperatures dropping into the upper 50s. Dry weather is expected early next week with a slight chance for showers by Wednesday and Thursday. Many areas, especially south of the I-10 corridor could use the rainfall as the past three weather systems have brought more of the action to the northern sections of our state. Long range models suggest a pattern shift in early May that could help improve the coverage of rainfall.
