A line of severe storms pushed through Acadiana early Sunday morning, likely producing a tornado in Evangeline Parish, and causing damage across the parish.

Now that the line of thunderstorms has passed the weather will start to improve through the remainder of your Sunday.

While a few showers will still be possible through the morning the severe threat has ended for Acadiana with the passage of this system.

As the rains moved through several areas received 5″+ of rain prompting some flooded roadways in the western half of Acadiana.

That water will slowly recede but travel should be avoided through the morning in areas where the water is the highest, predominately Jefferson Davis Parish, south Allen Parish and west Acadia Parish.

Your Sunday forecast will be much quieter now that the storms have passed and clean up can begin, this week should be quiet as well with nothing major coming down the line.

We have crews that are on scene where the damage has been reported and we will bring you more through out the day.
