It’s been a frustrating few days in forecasting trying to figure out what exactly this front is doing, and how it will impact Acadiana.

After fizzling to the point where only a few light showers popped up another line of more robust showers are expected to move through Acadiana.

The rain will move through the region by mid to late morning with a thin band of showers quickly pushing in from the west.

There’s not severe weather expected with this system but a rumble or two of thunder will certainly be possible as the front swings across.

The showers will be over pretty quickly as it’s a thin band we’re dealing with so expect the rain to be wrapping up a little after lunch.

This gives us a slight chance at some sunshine in the afternoon which would help push temperatures up into the low 80s.

We’ve been under a pretty warm stretch the last several days and that’s coming to an end this weekend with lows dropping slightly below normal and the highs staying in the 60s.

After seemingly endless days of gray skies we will finally get sustained sunshine starting this weekend and lasting through next week.
