We’ve made it to the big holiday weekend here in Acadiana and with everything going on weather looks to cooperate for the most part.

This doesn’t mean there will be bright blue skies but for the next few days showers won’t be as numerous as they’ve been the last few days.

Clouds will linger around once again on Friday and a few isolated showers will be possible, although they won’t be as heavy or as numerous as Thursday’s showers.

Temperatures will sit in the low 70s and the cloud cover will keep those lows overnight down in the low 60s, a little warmer than average.

There’s not going to be much change going into Saturday with that front stalled out on top of Acadiana keeping the door open for a few scattered showers.

A cold front will swing through the region on Sunday sparking showers and strong, possibly severe, thunderstorms.

That front will arrive late in the day and will bring along with it some cold air which will stick around through the Mardi Gras holiday.

So expect a complete change for Lundi and Mardi Gras with cold, windy conditions across Acadiana for all of the celebrations.
