Snow can’t get going, but the cold air still moves in

Posted

A disappointing day for winter weather fans in Acadiana as the conditions could never quite line up correctly to give us any kind of snowfall.

The front moved incredibly quickly early Tuesday morning and the colder air never seemed to be able to quite catch up.

That being said there were a few flakes in Avoyelles and areas to the north, but there likely won’t be any accumulation.

Any Winter Weather Advisories that were up have been pulled down, but a Wind Advisory will be up through the rest of the day.

Temperatures will get up into the mid 40s Tuesday afternoon, feeling a little cooler than that though with strong winds from the north.

Winds will be kicking around at 15-20 mph with wind gusts pushing 25-30 mph, those winds should finally relax late in the evening.

Skies will be clearing through the day on Tuesday and plenty of sunshine is expected through the middle of the day.

If we take a sneak peak to the rest of the week we’ve got quite a bit of cloud cover to get through, and temperatures will eventually warm up b the weekend.
