A big time change in on the way for Acadiana with an impressive front moving through the region sending temperatures dropping through the day.

Showers will persist for the majority of the day on Wednesday with light, drizzly showers occasionally giving way to heavy downpours.

During the evening temperatures will start to clear up, but not before we receive around a half inch to an inch of rain, which will be more nuisance than problematic.

Winds will be blowing around pretty good from the north, which won’t be helping temperatures out at all instead forcing the wind chill down into the 30s by late afternoon.

The clouds will finally start to clear overnight which will allow temperatures to drop down to around freezing with a wind chill sitting down in the 20s.

A cold period will take shape the next few nights giving us a polite reminder that it is still winter.
