The work week has arrived, after delightful weather this weekend, the pattern looks a little muddier and unsettled.

A quiet start to Monday, and the week, with a mix of sun and clouds through the first half of the day before clouds start to gather Monday afternoon.

Clouds will both lower and thicken through the day, and it will be fairly dreary by the time the sun goes down Monday evening.

The clouds will be accompanied by cool temperatures with the highs only getting to around 70 in Lafayette, with upper 60s possible in north Acadiana.

Despite the grey afternoon the showers will hold off until Tuesday when they’ll be a little more scattered across the region.

This will be the beginning of a fairly wet period culminating in a round of heavy showers and a few thunderstorms on Thursday.
