Soggy weekend for Acadiana

We’ve almost made it through another week, a week which saw the heat index break the triple digits day in and day out as summer seemingly refuses to end.

When it comes to the temperatures Friday won’t be much of an improvement, but a higher rain chance would mean a better chance for a cooling shower.

There’s been a shift in a ridge of high pressure to our east which has opened the door for a stream of moisture to come surging in from the Gulf of Mexico.

This in turn will open up the door for better rain chances through the weekend, and even into the majority of next week.

Even with a fairly wet forecast for the next several days there won’t be significant rain totals area wide, although heavy downpours could end in some localized flooding.

There was a lot made earlier this week about the potential of a front, well it seems that the front may not be coming to fruition as early as we’d like.

So in the meantime we’ll just keep making our way through this stretch of hot, humid, and now wet weather.
