While the showers were a little more scattered on Thursday it was evident after briefly stepping outside that the atmosphere is loaded with moisture.

Since it doesn’t look like this moisture is going anywhere anytime soon you should keep an umbrella handy over the next several days.

Scattered showers will continue to be the norm over the few days, and even during the weekend it’ll be 40%-60% type coverage.

This also means that temperatures will be running closer (or at least feeling closer) to summer norms with highs in the 90s and the heat index close to triple digits.

Even an extended look at the forecast doesn’t offer much hope for a break in the pattern so it seems we’ll be stuck with this type of set up for a some time.

Else where the tropics remain active in the Atlantic but nothing immediately of concern for the Gulf of Mexico outside the usual attention that should be paid to the tropics this time of year.
