Tuesday's forecast is one that is going to become very familiar to us here in Acadiana as we push forward into the summer months.

A hot, muggy day is on tap for south Louisiana with highs sitting in the upper 80s, heat index in the 90s, with dewpoints riding in the lower 70s making it a very sticky atmosphere.

While the sunshine will be in place for the first part of the day tropical looking skies may give way to a brief passing shower later Tuesday afternoon and evening, as the moisture interacts with the day time heating.

A warm front will slowly sag south late in the evening which may fire up a few strong storms to our north, and although the chance is small for severe weather if storms do develop they should be watched.

That front will push further south early Wednesday morning which will spark another round of scattered showers for early in the day, keeping plenty of clouds in the forecast for the midweek.

After a quick break in the weather for Thursday showers will be building back into the forecast as we get into the weekend.
