Cool, drier weather for the mid week

Posted at 6:08 AM, May 06, 2020

After a round of intense weather with the passage of Tuesday's front the middle of the work week is offering up the best of south Louisiana's spring time weather.

Acadiana is getting clear, sunny skies and cooler afternoons starting Wednesday with highs only getting up to around 80 degrees, and those same clear skies will be responsible for lows in the mid 50s.

This stretch of pleasant weather will continue into Friday, when it'll be briefly interrupted by another round of possible intense thunderstorm activity, before a beautiful weekend.

Showers and storms will be popping up Friday evening into Friday night with another front pushing through Acadiana, and once again we could be looking at some severe weather.

SPC currently has Acadiana at a marginal risk for severe weather but that could go up over the coming days so be sure to stick with KATC for the latest.
