Mostly cloudy skies across Acadiana Tuesday as we continue to deal with a stagnant weather pattern that started to take hold over the weekend.
This means that it will be a fairly still, muggy day with highs that will push into the upper 80s and the heat index will be sitting in the 90s.
An isolated shower or two can't be ruled out but the rain chances will be much higher on Wednesday with widely scattered storms returning to the forecast on Wednesday.
Once the thunderstorms start to pick up on Wednesday the weather will stay fairly unsettled for the end of the week with spotty showers becoming a little more prevalent then they've been on Monday and Tuesday.
The tropics have been flaring up with a depression developing in the southern Gulf of Mexico and that storm will need close monitoring as we go through the week.
