The annoying high clouds will continue to linger over Acadiana on Monday as the pesky stationary front remains just offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.

But just like this weekend there could be a few breaks in the clouds allowing for some dull sunshine Monday afternoon helping to push temperatures into the mid to upper 60s.

With more clouds Monday temperatures remain below average in the 60s.

Tuesday a weak high will slide closer to Acadiana helping to clear out most of the clouds but it will also pull down some slightly cooler air as highs will be a degree or two cooler in the mid 60s.

As the high slides off to the east for the second half of the week we will finally have mostly sunny skies Wednesday through Friday with temperatures gradually warming into the low to mid 70s.

However, it will still be on the chilly side at night and first thing in the morning this week with lows in the mid to upper 40s every night.

Clouds swing back over Acadiana next weekend along with the slight chance for a few showers Sunday afternoon but overall the weekend doesn’t look too bad with temperatures in the mid 70s.

Ahead of our next system a few scattered showers could push into Acadiana on Sunday

The best chance for widespread rain will be the following Monday when our next cold front sweeps across Acadiana.

This front could even produce a few thunderstorms but right now I don’t see any severe weather.

Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms likely with our next front on Monday
