Spotty showers to wrap up the weekend

Finally, a scattering of showers across Acadiana Saturday afternoon which will act as a sign of things to come over the next several days with a break in this monotonous pattern finally showing up.

Humidity will stay high through the rest of the weekend, and we’ll have a few disturbances swinging through sparking showers across the area in the afternoon on Sunday.

Plenty for these showers to work with as temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s and a heat index in the triple digits, indicating both heat and humidity (the perfect recipe for summer showers).

A front is still expected to drop in on Monday afternoon/evening, sparking widespread rain and thunderstorms, which will last through into Tuesday. In fact, Tuesday looks to be the wettest day this week.

The ground is certainly ready to take on some rain, so flooding won’t be much of an issue outside maybe ponding on roads after a particularly heavy downpour; all told we are looking at an inch or two over several days.
