Dry air continues to slide down into Acadiana creating another comfortable start to the day with temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s.We have not seen temperatures this low in more than 7 weeks, so this weather is definitely not normal for late July. With the dry air in place and plenty of sunshine temperatures will still heat up into the mid 90s but feel like temperatures will once again stay below triple digits this afternoon. The low humidity levels will carry over into Thursday producing another hot day with highs in the mid to upper 90s but it will not feel that bad as heat indices will be right about 100.Friday is when things slowly begin to change with winds turning out of the west gradually increasing the moisture levels for Acadiana causing a few more clouds to bubble up during the afternoon.Unfortunately just in time for the weekend the hazy, hot and humid conditions of July return as we will have partly cloudy skies, highs in the mid 90s and feel like temperatures getting back up to about 102-106°Besides the heat and humidity this weekend you might also have to dodge a couple stray showers(20%) Sunday afternoon.Moving into the new work week that is when we could finally see widespread scattered showers and a few storms return to Acadiana as a front heads our way.Best time frame for showers is Monday afternoon and then during the first half of Tuesday.Behind this front we could get another shot of drier air dropping highs to seasonal levels in the lower 90s and overnight lows getting back down into the low 70s for the second half of the work week.
