Scorcher through the weekend

It’s another round of more of the same here in Acadiana the forecast hasn’t been particularly exciting the last few days, and it doesn’t seem to be changing this weekend.

It’ll be hot, it’ll be humid, and if you’re lucky you’ll get a quick passing shower in the afternoon although these have been sporadic and pretty hard to come by the last few days.

Temperatures will approach the mid 90s on the thermometer, but we all know that the more important number, the heat index, is going to be skyrocketing into the triple digits.

The weekend looks exactly the same with the first subtle differences arriving Sunday afternoon with an extra shower or two but nothing especially out of the ordinary.

It does look, however, that we have an idea of when this pattern will break down as we are still on track to get a few unsettled day through the majority of next week.

Showers look to be the heaviest on Tuesday as a disturbance skirts along the coast moving to the west bringing the heaviest rain along the coast line and areas south of I-10.

Moisture will remain through the 4th of July holiday keeping showers in place for Independence Day, but we need the rain as we’ve had a very dry month/summer so far.
