The showers have finally exited the western Gulf Coast which will open the door for high pressure to slide in and take control of the forecast for the foreseeable future.

This goes along with the official start of summer as temperatures will rise back into the low 90s over the next few days with out cloud cover to help limit the sun.

Plenty of humidity will hang around, however, so the heat index will be well beyond what the thermometer says and will actually sit up in the triple digits through the rest of the week and the weekend.

Rain chances are largely diminished as the ridge won’t allow much lift, that being said with all the humidity in place a few pop up showers will be possible late in the afternoon.

Taking a long look at what to expect next week rain chances will inch up through next week to the 20-30% range as the influence of the high pressure ridge begins to wane.
