It’s another muggy start to the day with areas of patchy fog and low clouds hanging over Acadiana.

Later this morning and into the afternoon peeks of sunshine will begin to poke through the clouds warming temperatures into the upper 80s but with the humidity it will feel more like the mid 90s today.

Now this sunshine will combine with the very humid atmosphere to produce some pop-up showers and storms throughout Acadiana this afternoon.

These showers will fade this evening but later tonight an upper level tough will dive down towards South Louisiana and mix with all the tropical moisture over the region to produce more scattered showers and storms over East Texas.

Now there are still some uncertainty as to just how far these showers will push into Acadiana.

Areas towards Lake Charles will have the best chance to see scattered showers from this system tonight with lower chances the farther east you go as most models have the rain falling a part as it sweeps across Acadiana.

That said we could still have some light showers linger in the area Thursday morning before the system dies out.

Thursday afternoon drier air will work over the region clearing out the clouds.

Friday high pressure will build over the southeast putting an end to the rain and cranking up the heat as highs will get back into the lower 90s.

As for the weekend it will be back to the hot and humid conditions of summer with highs in the lower 90s and feel like temperatures pushing the upper 90s to near triple digits under mostly sunny skies.

So, it looks to be a perfect weekend to hang out by the pool, go to the beach or take the boat out on the water just remember the sunscreen, hats and sunglasses.
