Gloomy weather remains for another day

Clouds hung around for the better part of the day on Tuesday, and while showers popped up from time to time the heaviest weather remained to our west all day.

The showers along the Texas/Louisiana border are a result of a tropical wave that pushed in from the Gulf of Mexico and has brought several inches of rain out to Cameron and Calcasieu Parish, and it looks like those showers will continue into the overnight hours.

This line of showers will slide west through the day on Wednesday which will make for wet travels to Houston so if you are on the road please pay attention to road conditions.

Wednesday will still be gloomy for the majority of the day but we may finally start to see a few breaks in the clouds as we go through the day, although they will be few and far between.

Keep the umbrellas with you on Wednesday with scattered showers remaining in the forecast, particularly in the afternoon and evening, if the clouds break up we may even see a few thunderstorms as well.

The weather should slow down the rest of the week and return to a more normal summer pattern by the time we get to the weekend.
