The forecast rolls along with little surprise as we’ve lived through this forecast for the last several days which makes us very much prepared to tackle Friday’s weather.

It will be a quiet morning with plenty of sunshine and humidity sinking in after sunrise which will get temperatures racing to around 90 before the clouds then take over and the showers start to pick up.

Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms will be on tap for much of Acadiana, still of the summer variety though which means you can ride out almost every storm.

After a lull in the action Friday night into Saturday morning the clouds will roll back in and that’s when the forecast will start to become a little more interesting as a result of deep tropical moisture.

Over the course of the weekend Acadiana looks like it’ll receive somewhere between 2-4" of rain, although tropical showers can sometimes pack quite a punch there could be some isolated areas that see double that amount.

Regardless the rain will be heavier out west so it may not be the best time to take a trip to Houston if you can avoid it with wet weather expected all weekend and into next week.

These showers will continue into Monday morning before we start to see some drier air move into the region through next work week.
