We’re starting the work week on a quiet note when it comes to weather. Skies are generally fair with a few clouds sweeping around a low pressure area over the Tennessee Valley this morning. Some of those clouds will extend westward into the eastern parts of the region, while western sections should remain sunny. Temperatures will be slightly below normal today, but near normal toward the mid week. A weak system will move through Wednesday night, but most of the week and the upcoming weekend will be easy going.
High pressure is in control today, and with a west to northwest flow, humidity levels should remain low. With afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70s and light breezes, it should be a pleasant day. Skies will remain generally clear overnight with temperatures dropping back into the upper 50s. Tuesday should bring partly to mostly sunny skies again with highs getting closer to 80 degrees. A weak low pressure area will sweep across the south bringing another cold front Wednesday night. There will be a little bit of moisture for the system to work with, so a few showers will be possible late Wednesday night into Thursday. Amounts of rain shouldn’t be too significant, with most areas receiving less than 1/2 inch. Most of this will be general rain, with an isolated thunderstorms possible. Severe weather will not accompany this front.
Cooler, drier air will then move in Thursday with skies gradually clearing. As of now, the weekend looks dry and mild with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 and lows in the 50s and 60s. This is ideal weather for Festival International and all other events happening this weekend!
