The end of our incredible stretch of weather is here with one last pleasant forecast coming up for Thursday before we dip into a slightly more progressive pattern.

The turn around has already started although Thursday’s changes will be more subtle the winds are now firmly entrenched out of the south and is already bringing in moisture and preparing the atmosphere for the next round of storms.

Highs on Thursday will fall just a hair shy of 80 degrees, but the increase in moisture means that it will feel a little warmer outside then it has over the last several days.

Sunshine will remain out and in full force with the increase in moisture finally translating to cloud cover as we go overnight and through the day on Friday, with a possible scattered showers possible to wrap up the work week.

This will eventually give way to the week’s main weather maker, a cold front, which is expected to sweep across Acadiana on Saturday morning producing heavy showers and possible thunderstorms.

Exact details on the kinds of threats we’ll be dealing with will be more readily available on Friday as we get closer to the event, but it will be a good idea to be mindful of an impending severe weather situation on Saturday.
