Sunny Sunday but better rain chances on the way

The hot and humid summer-like pattern will continue on Sunday with highs warming into the lower 90s and feel like temperatures topping out in the mid to upper 90s.

The only difference Sunday is there might be a couple stray showers(20%) during the afternoon/evening but most of us will stay dry again.

Thus it should be another great day to enjoy out by the pool just remember the sunscreen and to stay hydrated if you are outside for extended periods.

Moving into Monday rain chances look to go up to about 30-40% as an upper level systems works over South Louisiana during the afternoon/evening.

Tuesday and Wednesday we go back down to a 20-30% chance for a few pop-up showers/storms during the afternoon caused by daytime heating, otherwise it will be hot and humid again with a mix of sun and clouds.

By Thursday some tropical moisture could begin to head towards Acadiana providing some beneficial rainfall for most of Acadiana but still not enough for how dry it has been to start the month of May.

According to the European model we are still watching for the potential of a weak tropical low to head towards the Mississippi Gulf Coast Friday and into the weekend which could produce some wrap around showers for us but I am not expecting a wash out for Memorial Day weekend.

And just like last week the heaviest rains look to stay to our East from New Orleans into Florida were they could see 3-5 inches of rain over the next 8 days, while most of Acadiana will only receive about an inch or less of rain.
