According to state police, all eastbound lanes of I 10 are open at this hour after fire and hazmat crews spent the night fighting a chemical fire at Flow-Chem Technologies in Duson. The westbound lanes remain closed from the I 49 interchange to Rayne. The Duson exit remains closed as well.
Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson says that his office along with DEQ officials will begin allowing evacuated residents to re enter their homes starting at 6 a.m. If you were evacuated, you should meet at the Mire volunteer fire department on LA 95. DEQ officials will provide air quality checks to residents returning to their homes in the evacuated area.
This is a developing story. Tune in to Good Morning Acadiana at 4:30 a.m. for the latest updates.
