Beautiful end to April but turning humid as we move into May

We could not ask for any better weather than what we had this weekend for Festival International and the great news is the fantastic weather is going to continue for the first half of the work week.

Monday and Tuesday we should have mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with morning lows in the low 60s and highs in the mid 80s with comfortable humidity levels.

Moving into Wednesday and Thursday as our next frontal system moves into the Great Plains that will cause our winds to pick up out of the SSE at 10-20 mph pumping in humid air off the Gulf creating a fair amount of cumulus clouds during the afternoon and possibility a few stray showers.

The main different you will notice with the added humidity is overnight lows for the second half of the week will only drop into the upper 60s, so the AC is going to be working overtime later this week.

Friday the cold front will begin to slide our way sparking off some scattered showers during the afternoon and evening but it should not be a wash out for the first night of the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival.

Unfortunately, Saturday does look to be on the wet side as the front will slowly work through Acadiana producing widespread showers and a few thunderstorms.

As the front moves out into the Gulf Sunday morning there could be a couple lingering showers but by the afternoon the rain should move out and we could even see some sunshine to provide one decent afternoon for the crawfish festival.

For the following week there are still some questions as to what happens with the weekend frontal boundary but for right now I think we will go back to a mix of sun and clouds with seasonal temperatures in the low to mid 80s.
