You will want the jacket later tonight and Thursday morning as temperatures will fall into the mid 40s.

The good news is the cool temperatures will not stick around long as sunny skies will quickly warm up the area as temperatures will reach the upper 60s by lunchtime and top out in the mid 70s.

Thursday night a warm front will lift over the area making for a much milder start to our Friday with lows near 60.

This front will also produce more clouds over Acadiana and the chance for a few scattered showers during the afternoon on Friday.

Early Saturday morning a cold front will then sweep through the region bringing with it a line of strong to possibility severe storms similar to what we saw Tuesday evening.

The Storm Prediction Center has the ArkLaTex under a slight risk for some storms to turn severe while just the northwestern portion of Acadiana has a marginal risk(5%) for a couple storms to produce 60 mph wind gusts and large hail.

The storms should arrive about 2AM towards Alexandria and last until about noon for Morgan City, with Lafayette getting the storms around 6am.

Again this should be a fast moving thin band of showers and storms so rainfall totals will only be between .5-1" inch meaning flooding should not be a concern.

With the rain ending by late morning it should be dry for the Po-Boy and Boudin festivals but it will turn breezy and cool again.

Temperatures will be falling throughout Saturday so you will want the jacket or a sweater as it will only be in the mid 50s by the afternoon.

Sunday morning will be another chilly start with lows in the mid 40s but it will warm up nicely throughout the day under mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 60s.

Late Sunday into Monday we could have a second cold front swinging through Acadiana producing a few more scattered showers but with this front is coming so fast behind the Saturday front there might not be much moisture for this system to work with as it moves through the area.

After this front the weather should be just about perfect for Tuesday and Wednesday with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.
