The Tools for Schools Team is on the road again today, making a delivery to Northside High School.

Tools for Schools is brought to you by the Jim Olivier Family of Companies.

Teacher Cedric Bryant contacted us about radio or television related materials for the Broadcast and Journalism academy at the school.

Bryant said his students could use computers, broadcast consoles, cameras, green room equipment, microphones, professional lighting for pictures as well as video, editing devices and whatever else is available.

He said his students are getting hands on experience working with the equipment and will be familiar when attempting to go into the real world looking for a job in this field.

The team dropped off something they definitely need – a good camera.

“It’s going to be a lot more advances and will give us a better feel for the real world when we actually get more into this career throughout our life…a better feel of the equipment we’ll be using,” one student said.

“It’s going to mean a lot towards the class. And our class period, especially because we do a lot of work on production and film, working on our social medias, and posting daily news,” another student said.

“We have a lot of things we’re working on as far as journalism. And we want them to be able to operate cameras as well as edit film. I think the Tools for Schools program is awesome. The ability to ask and receive what we need to further our program is remarkable. So KATC coming through for us is amazing,” said Bryant.
