ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. — One person was killed after being hit by a car in St. Landry Parish Saturday night.
Lee Malveaux, 46, of Opelousas attempted to cross Interstate 49 North near US Highway 190, when a vehicle traveling north struck them. Malveaux was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was left with minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital to be treated.
The crash remains under investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop I.
